Olympics - a look back for DW

We are all big sports fans at DW Design & Print. The hosting of the Olympic Games in London 2012 has been fantastic news and we are all avidly watching. GB already have a good number of medals and lets hope we keep up the momentum - go GB!

Looking back, we have a past track record of creating Olympic and sport illustration and design.  Back in 1995 Darren won first place in the Sun newspaper 'draw a sports star' (6,000+ entries). As a result he was commissioned by Sporting Moments UK, London to illustrate Sebastian Coe and fortunate enough to meet and work with Sebastian on the illustration. Little did he know that Sebastian would be such a key part of bringing the Olympic Games to London in 2012. What a fantastic job he and his team have done and we extend our regards and congratulations.

Following the success of the print, the next commission to follow was Linford Christie, to depict his 1992 Barcelona Olympic gold medal win. Again, Darren was lucky to spend time with Linford and produce a limited edition print run. Once completed, Linford personally asked to keep the original illustration.

Sports illustration and design work that have followed include:

Asics Sports
Athletic autograph cards
London Marathon finishers t-shirt
Lords Cricket Ground t-shirt design

Sandals
West Indies Official Tour Print

Devon Malcolm - Derbyshire & England Cricket
Testimonial print

Phil Newport - Worcester & England Cricket
Testimonial print and print of famous players selected by Phil

Andy Pick - Nottinghamshire Cricket
Testimonial Print

Nottingham Forest Football Club
Greatest Ever Team - voted for by the Forest fans

We would love to have the opportunity to work on future projects following the London Olympics 2012, so watch this space!
