Just before Christmas we were approached by Erewash Borough Council, who were contacting local design agencies to design a logo to promote Long Eaton as the ‘UK Centre of Quality Upholstery Manufacture'.
We were asked to send them a portfolio of examples of our branding and logo work, something that we have a great deal of experience in, creating brands for Toray Textiles, Raleigh Cycles, the Nottingham Lions and many more. Check out our portfolio for more examples of our work.
After seeing our work, Erewash Borough Council selected us as one of four agencies to create and submit a design. For ours, we decided to use the idea of a needle and thread, a symbol we felt was synonymous with the art of upholstery.
The logo we created consists of an embroidered outline of the United Kingdom, with the needle pointing to Long Eaton, symbolising the way that quality upholstery manufacture puts the East Midlands town on the map. You can vote for your favourite design here. Ours is design number 3.
